Join What the Body Knows Live
In addition to how we practice What the Body Knows here on Substack, I also lead live series of the practice a few times per year.
Here’s what to know about the live sessions:
They are the best! That’s pretty much the whole list, but here are some other details, too:
There’s space for 8 people per group
Each series is usually 6 weeks in length, and each session is 90 minutes
I open registration to past participants and people on the waitlist first, and the groups often fill at least halfway from the waitlist
In the live sessions, we practice just like we do here, but we have a little more time and get to hear each other read out loud (I don’t choose favorites in this practice, but okay this is my favorite). We begin with about half an hour of our body-affirming yoga/movement practice, and then we move into two writes during the last hour.
We generally write for about 10 minutes each time, and when we’re done, we each share our work out loud (yes, everyone! No skips! That’s part of what makes the container of the group so powerful because we’re all in it together, me included).
This part does sometimes make people feel at least a little nervous the first time they try it. But after they do it and get to feel what it’s like to have their words held without commentary beyond gratitude, and also get to offer that to others, most people describe this as their favorite part of the practice!
